THE WOMEN'S CHARTER
RGC WAS PROUD, IN 2020, TO HAVE SIGNED UP TO ENGLAND GOLF'S WOMEN'S CHARTER. THIS IS A STATEMENT OF OUR POLICY AND COMMITMENTS (CLICK LINKS TO READ). IN 2023 WE WILL REVIEW OUR PROGRESS AND UPDATE OUR STATEMENT.SUE TURA (PAST CAPTAIN)
Hello. I'm Sue Tura and I have been a member at Rugby Golf Club for a very long time.............Since retiring from a career in the NHS, I have enjoyed playing a lot more golf and being involved with the club. It is a great sport for healthy outdoor exercise, meeting friends and socialising.
Here at Rugby Golf Club we are enthusiastic to welcome new female members of all ages and abilities, from beginners to those who enjoy competitive golf.
I am the coordinator for any new members and liaise with Zoe North, our PGA Professional about how best to support our beginners. We also have a buddy system to help integrate new members into the club and onto the course.
There is the opportunity to be as relaxed or as competitive as you wish with your golf -it's entirely up to you. Just come along and enjoy yourself. We'd love to see you.
HELEN COLE 2025 LADY CAPTAIN
I am Helen Cole, Lady Captain for the year 2025/26. I have been a member at Rugby Golf Club since I began playing in 2019. I was made very welcome by everyone when I joined the club and so I am keen to welcome new lady members, whatever their standard of golf.
We are a friendly group and often socialise outside of golf and take the time to help new ladies integrate.
We have a small but active section and there is something for everyone.Ourr competition are mainly on a Wednesday with alternate days at the weekend for the main competitions. Additionally, there is the opportunity to play friendly and competitive matches both at Rugby and other courses.
ZOE NORTH PGA PROFESSIONAL
I am Zoe North. I am a fully qualified PGA professional with over 12 years of coaching experience who specialises in women and girls' golf coaching.
I keep my coaching very simple. I work a lot on the set up and basics before looking into swing mechanics. I believe strongly in working on the individual's swing and not trying to change it to look like someone else's.
I teach all the shots required to play the course, and during lessons encourage people to experiment with their club selection. this is so they can understand what each club does (and that each club has more than one job!) most importantly for me is that I coach golf to be a lifetime sport, and for each lesson to be fun whilst learning.
